2023 Western District Junior & Young Rider Carnival
THE WESTERN DISTRICTS JUNIOR / YOUNG RIDER SHOWJUMPING CARNIVAL ENTRY CONDITIONS
Rules:
- All riders must be current CRC Members or EA Members
(CRC Membership $50 Single, $100 family)
- Medical Levy applies at $20 per rider for the duration of the show.
- By entering this event, competitors are agreeing to abide by the EA Code of Conduct
- Horses may be entered in a maximum of 2 classes per day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- All riders in official classes 105cm and above must be members of EA. Caramut Riding Club
membership is sufficient for unofficial classes
- All events are judged under EA National Jumping rules and regulations.
- Riders may enter and ride as many horses as they wish.
- A competitor is a Junior If they turned 18 in 2022.
- A competitor is a Young Rider if they turned 16 in 2022 and were 21 or under in 2022.
- Young Riders may not compete in Junior Classes.
- Eligible Juniors may compete Junior OR Young Rider (but not both) for each horse entered.
- Horses may only enter one of classes 9, 11.
- Horses may only enter one of classes 16, 17, 18, 19.
- Protests must be lodged in writing within 20 minutes of the event and accompanied by $50 - non-
refundable unless protest is upheld.
- Parents and riders must abide by EA rules and codes of conduct
- Prize money will be paid through global after the conclusion of the Show.
Refund Policy:
- Administration Fee $20 – non refundable
- Entry and camping fees and medical levy will be refunded before entries close
- Entry fees from scratchings during the Show may be applied to alternate entries during this show
only (will not be carried over)
- Scratchings accompanied by a Vet Certificate or Medical Certificate will be refunded

Accommodation:
- Camping fee $30
- Yards are available at the cost of $30 for the duration of the show.
Horse Accommodation: The grounds have 17 yards provided to accommodate horses. Build your own
yards are optional if you are unable to get a yard. Maximum size 5m x 5m. Yards must be compliant with
EA regulations.
Power, shower and toilet facilities available.
Covid Guidelines:
- QR Check in required for both the event and the use of caravan facilities. Please check in at both
- Please keep helpers to an absolute minimum - participant numbers will be capped to ensure social
distancing can be maintained
- Toilets open, clubroom unavailable (bring your own food and drink)
- All trucks/floats to park 4m apart
- Social distancing to be always observed (1.5m)
- Do not come if you are unwell
- Avoid gathering in groups
Conditions of Entry:
- The CRC does not accept any liability for accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners,
riders, grooms, spectators, grounds or any other person or property whatsoever.
- Horses and riders compete at their own risk
- Approved safety helmets to current EA standards and tagged, must be worn properly fastened at all
times while riding on the venue. It is the riders responsibility to ensure helmets are up to standard
- Please put manure into plies
- DRESS: EV dress rules apply
- Dogs are allowed but must be properly restrained at all times
- Prize money will vary if insufficient entries are accepted.
- Judge/Course builder may change the format of the program at their discretion on the day.
