Rules, Regulations & Category Explanations

 

RULES, REGULATIONS & CATEGORY EXPLANATIONS.

CATEGORY EXPLANATIONS:

FEI International Children’s Competition Category A: Riders are eligible to compete in this class from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 12 until the end of the calendar year in which they reach 14 years.  Maximum height in this category 1.20m.

FEI International Children’s Competition Category B:  Riders are eligible to compete in this category until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 14.  Maximum height in this category 1.10m.

You can only compete in ONE FEI Category.  A horse can only compete in one category. You can compete on two horses in one category. You must nominate which horse you wish to count for the FEI competition final results. Nominations must be made immediately after the A2. 

Junior:  A rider is a “Junior” until the end of the calendar year in which he/she reaches the age of 18 years.  (EFA Addendum to FEI Rules for Jumping Aug. 2001).  If riders are eligible for Young Rider as well they can compete in both but on different horses.

Young Rider:  Competitors may take part in competitions for “Young Riders” from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 16 years until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 21 years. (EFA Addendum to FEI Rules for Jumping August 2001) If riders are eligible for Junior’s as well they can compete in both but on different horses.

Novice Junior:  A rider may compete in the Junior and Novice Junior but on different horses.  The horse can only compete in one division each day but may compete in Ring 3 classes also.  Age of rider the same as Junior.

Maximum height in the first round of this division will be 80cm.

Novice Young Rider:  A rider may compete in the Young Rider and Novice Young Rider but on different horses. Age of the rider the same as Young Rider.  The horse can only compete in one division each day but may compete in Ring 3 Classes.   Maximum height first round will be 1m.

Child Jumper: Riders are eligible to compete in this category until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 14.

Pony Jumper  is a horse 14.2hh and under and must be ridden by a rider under 17 yrs on the day of competition.  The judge has the right to request any pony to be measured if he/she feels there is a height discrepancy.   A measuring steward will be in attendance.

Open Jumper is any rider under the age of  21 years at the end of the calendar year.  The rider can compete in any section on other horses but the horse can only compete in one division each day.

MAXIMUM HEIGHTS listed are for the first round of the competition. 

 

RULES & REGULATONS:

ENTRIES CLOSE:  Friday 18th September, 2009.

NO NEW ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE

LATE ENTRIES: Riders whose entries are accepted will be allowed to put in entries on the day for horses already entered but they will incur a $5.00 late charge per class.  This will be strictly adhered to.

CHANGE OF ENTRY: The fee of $5.00 will apply for change of entry from one class to another once the draws have been done.  Draws are completed a week prior to the show. 

REFUNDS:  A 50% refund will be given only on sighting a doctors or veterinary certificate.  100% refund will be given if the scratching is before the closing date or if the event is cancelled.

DISCLAIMER STATEMENT:

Rider under the age of 18 must have their forms signed by a parent or an authorised Legal GuardianRiders will not be allowed to compete until the signed indemnity form is lodged at the office on your arrival to receive your wristband.

BOND: A $20 Stable Bond will be required for every stable, stall, yard or 'make your own yard'.  This is refundable at the end of the show if stable/stall/yard/'make your own yard' area is left clean.  Payable when collecting wrist band.

WRISTBANDS: Your will need a wristband to be eligible to compete. These will be available at the Show Office on presentation of your signed Disclaimer and payment of the stable/stall/yard/'make you own yard' Bond. NO EXCEPTIONS!

DOGS: must be on a leash at all  times.  No dogs are allowed in the jumping or practice arenas at any time.

PRESENTATIONS.  Riders will be required to wear a coat in presentations.

COATS: Summer Uniform will be acceptable if weather exceeds the temperature required.  If riding without a coat a proper long sleeved riding shirt with tie or ratcatcher will be permissible. If you wish to wear a back protector you have the option of wearing a riding coat or not.

RULES: This event will be run under FEI/EFA regulations.

HELMETS: Australian & European Helmet Standards will apply in all rings and riders must wear these helmets at all times when mounted on a horse this includes presentations and non competition days.

COMMITTEE: The Organising Committee reserves the right, at their absolute discretion, to alter or amend any of the conditions, regulations or any aspect of the event they see fit.

PRACTICE ARENA: Only Riders competing in the current competition may use the final practice area.  Only six horses will be allowed in the practice area at any one time.  Other warm up areas will be provided.

VEHICLES: EPIC (Exhibition Park In Canberra) is a public area and no under age drivers, driving under the influence of alcohol or riding on the outside of vehicles will be tolerated.

Important Competitors Information
